Don't Be Tardy Ssn 4/Ep 11 - Hello Hollywood

Glenn Rowley

This week on Don't Be Tardy was all about the city of angels. After getting her in the door, Kim and Kroy take Brielle to LA to learn more about what it would take to work as a correspondent at E! News and go hunting for apartments. A trip to LA requires the perfect wardrobe so Shun arrives at the house bearing gifts for Brielle in the form of racks of designer clothes. Once she settles on a pair of high-waisted flared jeans, Kim tells Brielle to thank her lucky stars she's getting such a big opportunity.

The next morning, Kim, Kroy and Brielle leave for the West Coast bright and early at 5 a.m. and it's helloooo Hollywood! Driving down Rodeo Dr., Kim's taking videos about Brielle's big day and telling Kroy to just leave her there to shop. Brielle insists that she's not nervous, she just doesn't know what to expect. Kroy reminds us that part of Brielle may think they're going out to LA to have a contract with E! fall into her lap, but that's not how adult life works.

Meanwhile, back in Atlanta, Gloria the assistant is going out of town and Tracey offers to do her job for the weekend. After all, how hard could it be to bring the boys to camp, drop off dry cleaning and take pictures of Kim's wigs? Before working for the Biermanns, Tracey managed restaurants. She can certainly handle an 8-person restaurant. Right? Gloria nervously leaves the house in Tracey's semi-capable hands with a super comforting request not to kill the kids.

Kim, Kroy and Brielle arrive at the E! studios and are greeted by a production manager who has a full afternoon planned for them. First up is a tour of the E! newsroom, where she informs Brielle that before becoming a host, she would have to work behind the scenes, learning how to write and produce. Next, they get to watch E! News anchor Jason Kennedy tape segments for the show. After a minute, Jason greets the family and invites Brielle to come up and try a read. Having never read off a teleprompter before, Brielle is a nervous wreck about being thrown in front of the cameras, but takes a breath and nails a line about Miley dating a Victoria's Secret model, sending Kim into proud mom mode..

All of a sudden, Jason's fellow host Giuliana Rancic appears. The E! star happens to be Brielle's personal idol and meeting her sends the recent graduate into starstruck tears. Up to this point, with all her mom's success, Brielle claims she's never cried meeting a celebrity before, but she gets a pass for meeting her idol. Before she knows it, Brielle is doing reads with Giuliana and getting relationship advice about her future with Slade. Giuliana tells her that chasing her dreams always came before chasing a man and that she made a long-distance relationship work for a long time with her now-husband Bill.

After they leave the studio, Kim asks Brielle if she can see herself out in LA now, and Brielle says she can't exactly stay in Atlanta and just hope it happens some day. In a major about face, Kim admits via confessional that seeing Brielle so happy in the California sunshine supersedes her wanting to have Brielle stay with her forever in Atlanta. Looking for apartments the next day, Kim can't quite wrap her head around the fact that soon Brielle will be moving out and growing up. Even Kroy admits that he's a little more comfortable with the idea of Brielle moving to LA now that he's seen where she could be. After a fun little trip, Kim, Kroy and Brielle head back to the ATL and say hasta luego to the city of dreams.
