No Place Like Housewives for the Holidays

Glenn Rowley

housewives-christmas

Give a ho-ho-ho for the Housewives! Since we're right in the midst of the holiday season, I decided for this week's feature to take a special look back on all the times the 'Wives have celebrated good tidings of great joy (and even greater drama) throughout the history of the franchise. So bust out your sleigh bells and sugar plum fairies because it's time to send Old Saint Andy back on his way through the Christmases of Housewives past...

RHONJ Season 3/Episode 8 - Holidazed and Confused

melissa-gorga-christmas-cocktail-party-season-3

The holiday season took up the bulk of the middle part of New Jersey's third season, with Christmas alone taking up four episodes. The first episode kicked off at the conclusion of Teresa and Melissa's very first tentative truce. To launch the busy holiday social calendar, Jacqueline Laurita was hosting a cocktail party and invited Melissa and Joe as a ceremonial olive branch on behalf of Teresa. There were still no Wakiles allowed on the guest list, but it was a tiny step of progress. Meanwhile, the Giudices' legal problems were just beginning and when Teresa went off in court at bit player Monica Chacon (Joe's ex-partner's lawyer's wife), the aftermath was far from pretty. As a note, this was also the first time we heard "On Display."

At the Lauritas' low-key cocktail party, most of the 'Wives managed to be in the same room together without any table-flipping or literal brawling. As Jacqueline began to point out, the Gorgas didn't seem so bad...maybe they could all actually have fun together! The party consisted of lots of bubbly drinks, sparkly dresses, courtroom reenactments and Joe dressing up in Jacqueline's sequined, spaghetti-strap jumpsuit. By the end of the night, Melissa was inviting everyone to HER Christmas party - hoping that everyone could keep the good times rolling without any of Teresa's eye-rolling.

RHONJ Season 3/Episode 9 - Twas the Fight Before Christmas

teresa-giudice-kathy-wakile-christmas-season-3

The next episode focused on the Gorgas' charity Christmas party for children with cancer. At the party, Kathy tried to extend an olive branch to Teresa (remember, the two hadn't spoken since Kathy's infamous "unattended" comment at the Posche Fashion Show), which was handedly shut down by Tre with a "Oh so now it's good to see me?" Melissa took Kathy's side as she retreated to lick her wounds, but almost immediately Melissa's brother-in-law decided to confront Joe Giudice about a sum of money he supposedly owed him, which had the hostess rushing to put out a second fire. Then, for the party's grand reveal, Teresa's nemesis Kim G. waltzed in with none of than...Monica Chacon! Desperate for camera time, much? Clearly the unofficial Friend of the Housewives came to the party looking to cause trouble, but the Housewives effectively circled the wagons, with Melissa and Joe eventually kicking the uninvited plaintiff in the Giudices' lawsuit out of the party and Jacqueline standing up to her neighbor on behalf of her then-BFF.

RHONJ Season 3/Episode 10 - There Arose Such a Clatter

caroline-manzo-christmas-fight-season-3

The impending fight between the 'Wives and Kim G. bled over into the next episode, with matriarch Caroline eventually joining the fray in an attempt to stop the nonsense. Accusing Kim G. of coming to the party with the intent to cause hurt, she laid down the law and actually kicked the troublemaker out of the party - in a home that wasn't even hers! Chris Manzo emerged in the end as the fight's primary collateral damage, considering that Kim G. was the mother of his best friend Johnny. However, once Mama Manzo starts laying down the law, there's basically no stopping her. For Christmas Eve, Teresa and Kathy throw dueling parties - leaving Melissa and Joe feeling caught in the middle. Traditionally, they always spent Christmas Eve at Teresa's, but with the entire Giudice family there, they weren't so keen on breaking bread so soon after the christening disaster. As yet another peace offering, Melissa makes sure to bring pignoli cookies to Teresa's rather than the Italian sprinkle cookies that got thrown in the trash the year before. However, Joe Giudice wasn't even close to being on his best behavior, trashing Melissa behind her back all night and calling her a "raccoon face witch."

RHONJ Season 3/Episode 11 - A Very Jersey Christmas

teresa-giudice-christmas-morning-season-3

In the end, the Gorgas decided to stay at Teresa's house for about an hour before heading to the Wakiles' for the rest of the night, where they could let their hair down and relax. This decision obviously caused drama with Teresa, who had set places for them at the table and everything! To Tre, taking her brother away from her on Christmas Eve made Kathy a bad cousin, and she wasn't about to forget it any time soon. Christmas morning, however, was a success all around as the 'Wives were gifted with gold Rolexes, Louis Vuitton luggage, a recording studio, a diamond ring at the spot where Albert proposed, a brand new laptop, a sparkly robe and...nothing from Ashley. Poor Jac. A Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

RHONY Season 5/Episode 10 - You Want to What Me in the Where?

christmas-ramona-singer-season-5

Christmas arrived roughly halfway through the fifth season in NYC when the 'Wives came together for Luann's Life & Style party/coat drive for the homeless. Decked out in red, the ladies navigated through a number of battles and tiffs while getting in the Christmas spirit. Just a couple of episodes earlier, Luann and her boyfriend Jacques had played a mean-spirited prank on Ramona by setting her up with a blind taste test of her own Ramona Pinot Grigio. Mario had already stood up for his wife over a group dinner at Le Cirque, but when Ramona was the first to arrive, the Countess decided to raise the issue again. Insisting that the trick had been a ploy to showcase Ramona's wine rather than put her in an awkward situation, Luann attempted to downplay the incident and minimize the devious set-up that it was in reality. However, for once Ramona refused to take the bait and shut the conversation down by "taking the fifth."

christmas-heather-thomson-carole-radziwill-jingle-bells

Next, the ladies and their men all congregated around a banquette where a sloshed Sonja took the opportunity to give an unsuspecting Jacques an ultimatum about his relationship with Luann: put a ring on it or get out while you can. Sonja claimed that her drunken tirade stemmed from a conversation she'd had earlier in the episode with Luann about her wanting to have a baby, but it seemed very clear that Lady Morgan was simply deflecting some deep-seated anguish over her own failed marriage. Let's face it, a drunken Sonja is never a Sonja with a sexy J. The Christmas festivities capped off with all the ladies stepping into the spotlight to sing a rather off-key yet fun rendition of "Jingle Bells." That is, once Aviva stopped freaking out over not knowing the lyrics. For the event, Luann had hired a punk band called The Stumblebum Brass Band, who proceeded to turn the song into their own rendition called "I Wanna F*** You in the A**!" Great use of your fifteen seconds of camera time, boys. It certainly landed you on the naughty list for the next year.

RHONJ Season 6/Episode 2 - O Christmas Tre

kathy-wakile-rosie-pierri-christmas-season-6

New Jersey's sixth season rang in both a major cast shake-up AND the holiday season. In the second episode, the 'Wives celebrated Christmas with varying degrees of success. While Amber Marchese had her family practicing emergency fire drills, fellow newbie Nicole Napolitano got a major Christmas fail from her boyfriend Bobby in the form of a high heel-shaped wine bottle holder from the local Colts Neck pharmacy. Meanwhile the Giudice/Gorga/Wakile/Pierri clan got together for a family gag gift exchange that quickly turned sour. While Rosie could laugh at the vibrator Joey Gorga gave her, Teresa wasn't so impressed with the dictionary Kathy purposely sent her way. Kathy claimed she brought the gift because the whole family had a "hard time with the English language," but Teresa felt insulted and singled out. Eventually, the dictionary came back to haunt Kathy when she asked Teresa to write a blurb for her cookbook, which the OG refused to do after the so-called insult. Points for the family at least trying to get in the holiday spirit, right?

teresa-giudice-joe-christmas-season-6

Later on, Christmas took a somber and emotional turn in the Giudice home as Teresa and Juicy Joe exchanged gifts by the fireside and contemplated the possibility of both going to prison over their legal issues and having to wait years to spend Christmas together again. As Joe opened up about how difficult it would be to leave his wife and daughters, Teresa resolutely promised that, despite what people say, it wouldn't be their last Christmas together. And as we know from this year's Christmas festivities, she was right! Now it'll just be another four years before they do it again...

RHOC Season 9/Episode 4 - Pretty Ugly

christmas-lizzie-rovsek-christian-ugly-sweaters

In Season 9 in Orange County, brand new Friend of the Housewives Danielle Gregorio invited Tamra and Heather, somewhat randomly, to an ugly sweater charity party. In fact, it was so random that the first time we learned of the event was actually in a flashback of Danielle dropping an invitation off at CUT Fitness...which we hadn't seen before. (Season 9's use of flashbacks was weird, you guys.) At the party, a decked out Tamra, Eddie, Heather and Terry met new Housewife Lizzie Rovsek, a former Miss Kentucky who had brains to match her beauty and a sexy AF husband. Despite her past as a pageant queen, Lizzie and her poinsettia'd sweater made a grand entrance by promptly falling in the foyer and spilling a drink all over the floor. It was a shockingly endearing introduction to all the wonderful things about Lizzie and I knew right away that I would love her. Not much actual charity may have occurred at the party (besides giving poor Danielle the majority of her camera time all season), but Terry and Heather managed to win the ugly sweater contest with their matching snowflake-bedazzled ensembles. (For those who were wondering, my Christmas wish this year is for Lizzie to come back as a full-time 'Wife next season. Make it happen Santa!)

RHOC Season 9/Episode 8 - Not So Silent Night

christmas-tamra-season-9

Just a few episodes later, the holidays were in full swing when newbie Shannon Beador brought all the 'Wives together for her annual Christmas party. Plenty had happened in the interim including Chairgate at Javier's, Heather's hoedown-themed groundbreaking party, Vicki's trip to the forgotten state of Oklahoma and more. Needless to say, through more than one of the events above, the animosity and bad blood had quickly begun building between Heather and Shannon, and the latter's party was the perfect time for it to boil over. The drama first started when Heather was offered a guest co-hosting gig on Good Day L.A. and offered Tamra a segment on the show to promote CUT Fitness. For some reason Tamra took offense to this because prior to filming, the show had a rival fitness studio on when Heather was a guest host and Tammy Sue assumed that Fancy Pants had something to do with it. Yeah, I didn't quite follow it at first either. I mean, talking about shooting a gift horse in the mouth...

christmas-heather-dubrow-season-9

Naturally, Tamra had a passive-aggressive conversation with Heather when she was surprised by the news, and then proceeded to gather Shannon, Lizzie and Danielle together to badmouth Heather behind her back. (Meanwhile, Heather was in the other room trying to console an upset Vicki about Briana's impending move to Oklahoma.) When Heather and Vicki joined the other women, Fancy Pants was rightfully blindsided when Lizzie tried to put all the cards on the table and force the conversation between her and Tamra. In what felt like a gang-up, Shannon sided with Tamra and blew up at Heather for "talking so condescending." In a fortuitous moment, Heather's cell phone rang with a call from a sick Nicky at home asking her and Terry to come home. There was debate over whether or not Heather faked the phone call, but she gracefully and furiously exited the party by telling Tamra "I don't even like you right now." #TeamHeatherForever

Sadly, we've never seen Christmas in Beverly Hills, Atlanta or Miami. Maybe this year? To all you readers out there, I hope your holiday was all things merry and bright!

Amber Marchese: RHONJ's One-Season Survivor

Glenn Rowley

amber-marchese-season-6.jpg

After only one season on RHONJ, pot-stirring troublemaker Amber Marchese announced that she is leaving the franchise behind. In her exclusive statement to PEOPLE, she attempts to place blame completely on the network for how she was portrayed on the show. "I was picked on a casting call while pursuing acting, and the person who was presented was created for the show," her statement said. "I had little control over content, situations, or what they decide to show the viewers." In what she possibly views as going out in a blaze of glory, Amber also tries to throw her fellow 'Wives under the bus, saying, "Even my relationship with the twins was created. I recruited them for my storyline after I was chosen. I only met with Teresa Giudice and Dina Manzo for filming purposes. I never built a friendship with them as we were nothing more than co-workers. I wish them all well and the best of luck, although, my husband does not share my sentiments." Misused commas aside, the statement sounds to me like a bitter play for taking others out with her as she exits the Bravoverse stage left. For this week's second feature in a row, I'm taking a look back at the dramatic highs and lows of Amber's singular season as one of the Real Housewives of New Jersey.

Season 6

amber-marchese-harvest-party

Amber was introduced in the show's revamped sixth season as an old friend of Melissa Gorga's. In addition, she brought identical twins Teresa Aprea and Nicole Napolitano (whose boyfriend Bobby was best friends with Amber's husband Jim) along as new Housewives to round out the new cast. Almost immediately though, it seemed that Amber had a bone to pick with her old buddy Melissa. The two spent the majority of their twenties partying and clubbing, and Amber was even in Melissa's wedding but their friendship faded once they each got married. Then, tragedy struck when Amber was diagnosed with breast cancer at 31. With a six-month-old, a six-year-old, and two stepchildren at home, Amber underwent chemotherapy and eventually beat her cancer. However, what became known as "the cancer" was an immediate point of contention at Amber's Harvest Party, (the very first event of the season), when she confronted Melissa about never reaching out to her during her battle. Stunned, Melissa claimed she never knew Amber had the disease and that if she had known, she certainly would have reached out. There was confusion over a Facebook message Melissa had supposedly sent indicating that she DID know about the cancer, but when asked to produce the message, Amber claimed it had mysteriously disappeared. Within five minutes of joining the show, it seemed that Amber was out for Melissa - making the veteran question why she had come back into her life.

amber-hair-pull

However, within just a couple of episodes, Amber had seemingly changed targets. Though they had been introduced to the show as friends, things weren't as seemingly peachy between Amber and the "fun-bag twins" as we were led to believe. On a drive with Melissa, Amber let it slip that she'd heard that Nicole was a supposed "homewrecker" who had broken up a marriage as the other woman. Doing her due diligence, Melissa quickly told the twins about the gossip circulating around the New Jersey grapevine during a shopping trip. The twins' first attempt to confront Amber was a false start after they saw the Marchese kids up and awake at home and Nicole decided to wait to hash the rumor out with her supposed friend. The big blowout occurred during Nicole and Bobby's first responders-themed costume party. While dressed as a sexy fireman, Nicole confronted Amber (dressed as a sexy cop, naturally) about the homewrecker rumor in front of a party full of guests. As Nicole tried to get a public apology out of her friend, Amber snapped her fingers and demanded the twins and Melissa take the argument outside. With neither side refusing to back down, the fight escalated into a nasty, hair-pulling brawl that left a chunk of an enraged Amber's raven locks on the floor. In the screaming matches that followed, Jim managed to jump in the fray by insulting Dina, Teresa G. and Melissa's intelligence and calling Joe Gorga a "dumb f***." As the fallout from the brawl exploded, it appeared that the Marcheses were primed to be the season's main villains.

amber-marchese-home-wrecker-sit-down

After the explosive party, Amber got into it again with Melissa - blaming her old friend for starting the entire ordeal and calling her a liar and a "tainted woman" over lunch. (Never mind that she was the one who started the issue in the first place by telling Melissa the rumor.) Feeling excluded by half of the 'Wives, Amber attempted to buddy up with OGs Teresa and Dina by surprising them with nightingale dropping facials on a spa day. Meanwhile, Jim added tension to the fragile dynamic by revealing that, as a mortgage lender/attorney, he was working with the same D.A. who was prosecuting the Giudices in their fraud case. Talk about awkward. As a result, Jim made a conscious choice to avoid associating with the other husbands and placing a stone wall between him and the rest of the cast. After a couple episodes, Amber finally called a rocky truce with Nicole over the homewrecker drama, copping to repeating the rumor and finally taking responsibility. In the space of just a few episodes, Amber had managed to spark feuds with half the Housewives and make it clear that she could cause trouble.

amber-marchese-teresa-giudice-rumor

The one Housewife Amber seemed determined to befriend, though, was Teresa Giudice. She got weirdly emotional at the tasting party for Teresa's Fabulicious dessert line, crying about how strong Teresa was in the face of her daunting legal battle. Following her sit down with Nicole, Amber attended one of Teresa's cookbook signings and was introduced to Teresa's friend Victoria Gotti. The infamous mob daughter invited Teresa and Amber to her home following the signing and revealed over glasses of Fabellini a shocking rumor about Teresa A.'s husband Rino. According to the story, Teresa and Rino had divorced earlier in their relationship (they'd since remarried) due to a salacious scandal: apparently Rino had cheated on Teresa with her mother Santa. This new rumor left Amber and Teresa G. visibly stunned, with Amber immediately stating in her interview that she didn't know "if it was true or not." Once again, a destructive rumor had landed right in Amber's lap about one of the twins, but this time she didn't want anything to do with it.

amber-marchese-ash-wednesday-call

At the same time, Dina recruited all of the 'Wives to help her organize a charity event for her children's cancer charity Project Ladybug. Determined not to cause another problem, Amber made a pact with Teresa to never repeat the rumor about Rino and Teresa A.'s mother. Besides, Amber had bigger issues to worry about. After the Giudices pleaded guilty in their fraud case, Amber made a bizarrely emotional call to Teresa, leaving church in the middle of Ash Wednesday services to give her new cast mate the third degree about what would happen next in the case. (Naturally, this didn't go over well with Tre, who was intensely private about the entire matter - especially with this new Housewife she barely knew.) On top of that, Amber received "inconclusive" results at her five-year cancer screening, prompting her to worry that the breast cancer had returned. (Thankfully, further tests revealed later that it hadn't.)

amber-marchese-florida-fight

The season's cast trip to Boca Raton, Florida was put together by Dina and Melissa in an effort to get Tre's mind off her legal situation. However, the OG decided at the last second to stay home with her family, leaving the veterans and the twins to go on the vacation without her. Initially, Amber and Jim opted out of going as well, citing her cancer scare, but when the results came back cancer-free, they decided to join the group and celebrate. Prior to the trip, Teresa had filled Dina in on the Rino rumor, saying that in case Amber brought it up, someone needed to be there to back up the twins. However, when the Marchese's finally arrived, the trip promptly went to hell when Jim first instigated a fight with his former BFF Bobby and then provocatively revealed the rumor about Rino, sending the house into complete chaos in a barrage of drunken screaming and broken glass. Naturally, Amber was angry at her husband for revealing the secret, hysterically begging him to shut up. The next morning, an infuriated Dina asked the Marchese's to leave, sending them packing right back to Jersey after the chaos they had caused.

amber-marchese-sentencing-reaction

At this point, the Marcheses had alienated themselves from basically everyone in the cast. That fact became clear when Amber and Teresa G. were excluded from the guest list of the menu tasting for the Aprea's new restaurant. Meanwhile, after seeing a pattern of how Jim treated people, Melissa questioned Amber about how her husband treated her at home. By the season finale's Project Ladybug event, Amber attempted to make peace with her cast mates, even making up with Melissa, but for the others the damage had been done. In the wake of the Guidices' sentencing, the Gorgas and Dina refused to film their reactions - leaving the responsibility to the newer 'Wives and former 'Wives Jacqueline Laurita and Kathy Wakile and their families. With his background in law, Jim gave Amber a running play-by-play of the sentencing process and she seemed shocked at the news of Teresa's 15-month sentence, saying that she'd rather go through cancer than what the Guidices were dealing with. (Granted, nearly a year later Amber didn't seem quite so concerned about the well-being of her "friend.")

amber-marchese-season-6-reunion

The Season 6 reunion was shot just two days after Teresa and Joe's sentencing and the entire cast was still in shock. Seated at the far end of the couch, Amber was accused by the twins of playing "the cancer" card in an attempt to garner sympathy throughout the season, but claimed she merely wanted to use the show as a platform to educate others about the disease and fired back with accusations about Nicole's relationship with Bobby. When the husbands joined the reunion, Jim added fuel to the fire by attempting to paint his former best friend as desperate for fame and verbally attacked both Dina and Teresa G. However, Amber was ultimately the least outspoken 'Wife at the reunion, with the majority of the attention on Teresa's fate, Dina's feud with her family and Melissa and Joe's relationship with the Giudices. With that, the pot-stirrer of Season 6 went out with more of a whimper than a bang. She did wear a gorgeous, beaded Tony Bowls evening gown, though.

I guess time will tell if Amber's presence will be missed on the Real Housewives of New Jersey. In her one season, she proved to make for dramatic, entertaining television and I have a feeling Season 6 only scratched the surface of the no-nonsense cancer survivor. However, I will say that the way she's chosen to leave the show has left a bad taste in my mouth as a fan. Here's to hoping that Season 7 will be far less bitter...

Bravo's 2nd Annual #RHAwards: THG Picks the Winners

Glenn Rowley

It's awards season in the Bravo universe! That's right, the 2nd annual Real Housewives Awards are upon us. I loved when Bravo did this last year and am super excited to see it become an annual event. Let's face it, so much happens across the franchise and it's a fun way to look back on the year and vote for our favorite ladies. This year, they've added a number of new categories including Best Housewife Comeback, Realest Reconciliation and Miss Congeniality along with returning categories like Rookie of the Year, Biggest Reunion Shocker and OMG Moment. To analyze all the nominees, I rounded up my fellow Housewives fanatics Tanya from So Cute and Curvy and my cousin Adrienne for their input, and we're giving you our picks for who should walk away with the coveted glass heel!

BEST COMEBACK

That Housewives Guy: I love my Beverly Hills girls and I was over the moon about Dina coming back to RHONJ, but I'm going to have to say Bethenny. Her return reinvigorated RHONY and helped give us the best season New York has ever had. Yes I said it.

Tanya: I vote B [too]. I have this love/hate relationship with her because she's so harsh and...how she executes her honesty isn't always the kindest, but I respect her hustle and how genuine she always is.

Adrienne: Dina! While her comeback I fear is short-lived, it was great to see her back on such a pivotal season of RHONJ. Not only was she Teresa's main support system, she's hilarious, witty, honest, gorgeous, and has the uncanny ability to see right through the crap and fake peeps that are her counterparts.

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

THG: This category is incredibly crowded and I have a few questions about it. 1. Why do Nicole and Teresa have to share their nomination? First their tagline, now this? 2. Why is Shannon nominated but Lizzie isn't? And 3. Shannon and Kristen's rookie years weren't even in the current seasons of RHOC and RHONY, so that doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I feel like I can't vote for either of them simply out of principle.

A: I say Teresa and Nicole. While I didn't always love Teresa, Nicole's priorities of Duncan Donuts and Oral sex are clearly on point. I could see the twins being around for a while - they bring not only comedy but quite a bit of drama to the show.

T: I wish I had more than one vote for this category because Bravo did so good on all the newbies this year! I voted for the twins too because I feel if I had an alter ego I’d have a lot of their personality in there. The runner-ups I call for are Dorinda, Kristen, Shannon & Lisa. They bring so much to the show and live up to the brand…definitely unforgettable, so they have my vote as well!

THG: Honestly, there isn't a single bad 'Wife in the bunch, but for me it comes down to the twins, Dorinda, Lisa and Eileen. Eileen Davidson is my spirit animal. I know, I know that didn't really narrow anything down. I'm tempted to lean towards Dorinda because of how much I've loved this season of RHONY, but I think I'm going to go with Lisa R. She and Eileen both added so much to Beverly Hills this season, but she definitely brought more drama between the two.

BEST SUPPORTING AGITATOR

A: Jim Marchese. Do I really need to elaborate? He's scum, his need to over compensate for his ugly mug, bad hair plugs and small penis is obvious. Shut your face Jim.

THG: I agree, there's no way anyone but Jim Marchese walks away with this award - if you can really call spreading rumors about someone's mom, selling your best friend of more than a decade down the river for reality TV fame and coming across as a complete and utter a--hole an "award."

T: Um no. CoCo all the way. Duh….I could barely remember what part the other nominees had. Who doesn’t love the beautiful Coco?

THG: By the way, why isn't Brooks on this list? His cancer is just starting to stir up the OC and from what we've seen in previews and the press, everything is going to explode around it for the rest of the season. Then again, if he was nominated, Vicki would probably have Andy's head...

OMG MOMENT

T: I think these were all worthy of a nomination, however I can’t believe this character called JIM! I seriously don’t know who I would strangle more….him or Kenya. These types of people make their seasons addicting, but he is a horrible person and I won’t say more on that…..ugh!

A: Yes, definitely. While the rumor may or may not be true, you just can't talk about mamas.

THG: I think the most OMG moment was Lisa vs. Kim in Amsterdam. It was the moment we waited all season for, and it most definitely did not disappoint - shattered wine glass and all. Also, am I the only one who finds it telling that Kim isn't included in the nomination? Seems like Bravo is trying to distance itself as far as possible from her downward spiral...

MOST LOL-WORTHY

A: Milania. While I'm not sure if it's more LOL or WTF, it was worth some kind of mention. Good thing she's not my kid, she looks cute with her teeth in her mouth.

T: None of this was LOL to me…no vote.

THG: Yeah, I kind of agree with you. If I had to choose one, I'd pick Sonja with the tooth and the cufflink at the Boy Meets Skinnygirl party (which is weird because I'm never a Sonja fan). But where is Vicki swimming with the sharks in Tahiti or Dorinda mistaking that guy for a waiter?? Or even Yolanda's confusion over cunnilingus in the next category? I could go on and on. So many hilarious moments they left out.

BEST QUOTE

T: Dunkin' Donuts and oral sex…sounds about right to me. That is so true! My vote goes to Nicole.

A: Tamra. Let's face it, the woman is not only freaking funny, she is abrasive and brutally honest. Girl is a fire cracker who doesn't mind screaming to get her point across....My kind of girl. Quite frankly, her and my opinion on religion and others butting in with their two cents is right on point, ya'll can suck it.

THG: Ok, we seriously all have different opinions about this one because I have to go with Luann, if only because of how iconic it was. "Don't be all, like, uncool" instantly became part of the classic Housewives lexicon the second it came out of her mouth.

REALEST RECONCILIATION

THG: If we're talking about which was the realest, this one goes to Kyle and Lisa, easy. After watching their friendship fall apart over the course of two seasons thanks to a certain fired pot-stirrer (ahem, Brandi), it was so nice to see them really make up and become friends again this year. I'm excited to see them in Season 6 without other people trying to get between them. And for the record I will be on Team Kyle until the end of my days.

A: I agree, I do think Lisa and Kyle have truly moved forward and cherish each other's friendship. I would have chosen Tamra and Vicki for this, but I know they're going to fight and make up and fight and make up probably 20 more times in seasons to come.

T: Well, I'm still voting for Tamra & Vicki...I don’t have much to say about that, but I appreciate how easy it is for them to get past their issues and their past. I like that they can just move forward because they make good TV!

BIGGEST REUNION SHOCKER

T: Lisa and those lips…how can you not feel how authentic her apology is? She took responsibility for her behavior in Amsterdam. Kim’s reaction is so funny and just makes this whole scene.

THG: I loved watching Andy get sassy with Ramona a.k.a. Stonewall Jackson. She got so defensive and was trying so hard to deflect. The Ramonacoaster is always in top form come reunion time, but you would think after six years she would know not to mess with her boss.

A: That was a proud Andy moment for me. You go baby boy. Ramona is a loud mouth. While she can be funny, she was out of line here. Andy's response was flawless.

STUNNING INTERVIEW LOOK

THG: There is not a single Housewife on Kristin Taekman's level when it comes to fashion. Did you see her homage to the Sex and the City tutu this week on her blog? I feel the need to point out that I was calling her the Carrie Bradshaw of RHONY months ago in the very first Feature Friday on this site. For the record, I love a lot of Cynthia's style on RHOA too, but she's more miss than hit when it comes to her interview looks. Hands down, Kristen for the win. There's not even any competition.

T: Kristen has my vote as well. She and Nene are my Bravo fashion icons!

A: Nene. One word to describe this look....yikes. She looked like a penis head with that choppy bowl cut bob. Bye Felecia.

THG: Umm I don't think that's what they meant by stunning, Ade...

MISS CONGENIALITY

miss-congeniality

THG: Ok this category is just not fair because it has so many of my favorite Housewives from across the franchise...plus Kandi. I honestly can't choose. Yolanda is so patient and caring and manages to play the peacemaker with the Beverly Hills ladies even while she's battling Lyme disease. Carole is so down-to-earth, which I love, and Fancy Pants is so giving and such a true friend. Out of all of them though, I want Dina to be my best friend in real life. So I guess I'll go with her? I hope you know I'm going to agonize over this choice for days.

T: This category was made for Yolanda Foster. She is probably the most positive person on the Real Housewives franchise. Love how she has raised beautiful and kind kids. Loved that she was a successful model.  Love that she only promotes positivity on her IG. Love that she married a man she adores. Love that she is an example of getting what you ask and expect in life and then being humble and gracious about it!

A: Yolanda is so kind, a true class act. She treats everyone with respect and her husband, kiddos, and family are her life. Housewives could learn a lot from Mrs. Foster.

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

vicki-lifetime-achievement-award

THG: Ok, so we don't get to vote on this one, but I still thinks it's fun to predict who's going to get it. Last year, Vicki got the first-ever Lifetime Achievement Award, and I have to say it's probably one of my favorite Vicki moments ever. If you haven't seen it, go watch it now.

T: Two words…NENE LEAKES! She is a legend and probably the most memorable person out of ALL the housewives! Bloop!

THG: I agree, with her leaving RHOA behind, it's NeNe's year for sure. The one other possibility could be Ramona, but I think Bethenny's return overshadowed her too much to get it this year.

Well, there you have it. We didn't agree on much, but it was sure fun to see who we all thought should win. Special thanks to Tanya and Adrienne for helping me out! To cast YOUR votes, go to bravotv.com/rhawards and tune in to a special WWHL on Sept. 14 to find out the winners!
